1. INJURY: Maybe a tiger bit you in the arm, maybe you got attacked by some douchebag with a knife, who knows? The point is, you're hurt and probably bleeding! Better do something before that gets infected. Severity of the injury is up to you, from a papercut to outright guro.

2. SICKNESS: So much for that amazing immune system of yours. Cold? Flu? Some rare illness only one in thirty million people ever get? You've caught something. Chicken noodle soup, anyone? Or, you know, a trip to the hospital. Depends.

3. FEAR/ANXIETY: You're terrified! Don't ask me why, though. You just are. (Unless that tiger from example one is back and it's staring you down...) Hyperventilation! Trembling! Sweating! The works. How unpleasant for you.

4. LOSS OF SENSES: Perfect eyesight? Godlike hearing? Say goodbye to those! Sight, touch, taste, hearing, and smell are all fair game here. And though it's not exactly a 'sense', 'ability to speak' will be added under this umbrella too.

5. DESPAIR/DEPRESSION: Nothing is beautiful and everything hurts. You feel helpless and hopeless! This sudden sorrow came from nowhere and it seems pretty hard to shake, but maybe someone will be able to pull you out of your dark, gloomy emotional rut?

6. PARALYSIS: You can't move your legs, or perhaps it's your arms that are affected... Or even your whole body if you're especially unlucky. Unfortunately, you've been paralyzed somehow. If you're a Pokemon, you'd better hope someone has a Parlyz Heal or two on hand.

7. HALLUCINATION/DELUSION: There is most definitely something in the corner waiting to spring at you! ...Except when you take another look? No, there isn't. You've suddenly started hearing and seeing things that just don't exist, as the other person in the room will gladly tell you. The hallucinations can't hurt you physically, but your mental state, on the other hand...

8. MEMORY PROBLEMS: What's your name? Where are you from? These questions might become awfully hard to answer. Your memory is deteriorating as we speak; you can't remember what the conversation you just had was about, and you may well forget that you were having a conversation at all.

9. NIGHTMARES: Went to take a peaceful nap? Time for a nightmare! Hit in the head and knocked unconscious? You're getting a nightmare too, buddy, to increase the unpleasantness of your predicament. It'll be a little hard to wake you up from your bad dream, though it will be possible. While the dream may have ended, that doesn't mean it's completely out of your mind.

10. WEAKNESS/TIREDNESS: You're tired, exhausted, and you want to rest. All of your strength has left you. It's actually requiring all of your willpower not to just fall over on the floor. You should really find a bed soon.

[And she thinks she wants to keep that smile and make it better. Tyr should get the chance to be free of his nightmares. Encouraged, she nods along.] Yeah. And it's not like regular nightmares are rare or anything--nobody has to know it's you.

[stargathering]

[ He wasn't worried about anonymity—like she said, nightmares aren't rare—but he appreciates she thought of him. ] Thanks...

[ He gives her hand a little squeeze, his voice turning thoughtful. ] ...You're a really good friend to me.

[blastiafreak]

[Her blush this time is only slight. She's still partly focused on where to start with helping him, but she also can't deny that she cares about him at this point.] ...I'm just worried about you.

[stargathering]

[ He's not as happy now. ] I'm worried about you, too... [ He doesn't know if he should say more. He doesn't even register she's blushing. ] And I was just having a bad dream, you know...

[blastiafreak]

I'm not the one with the nightmares. [Nothing like his, anyway, she thinks as she shakes her head.] I don't care if you say it's "just" a bad dream. I mean...they still looked like they were, you know...hurting you.

[stargathering]

[ He pauses and just looks up with her for a minute. He didn't think Rita would get like this—he didn't think anyone but Gremio or Katara would. He feels a sort of comfort in still holding her hand. ] I wasn't the one getting hurt in that...

[ It's a weak comeback, but it's the only one he can think of. ]

[blastiafreak]

Idiot. [She doesn't say it unkindly, looking right into his eyes.] You know that nobody else was really getting hurt in that dream but you--you're the one who had to see it happen.

[stargathering]

[ He doesn't like being called an idiot, but she is right when he thinks of it. It's just him and thoughts of people who might not have even existed. ] I guess... I don't want people to get hurt like that... It's not just possible in dreams, you know...

[blastiafreak]

...[She makes a little sigh, worried again, and tries to soften her words this time.] I know. But you don't have to be constantly worrying about what could happen. That's just...[It's too cruel to Tyr himself.]

[stargathering]

[ He curls into his arm a little more, comfortably, but doesn't stop looking up at her. ] I don't always worry. [ He says it with certainty. ] The blastia is supposed to stop the curse, so... There shouldn't be a reason to worry about that.

[ He says it mostly for himself. ]

[She doesn't really know why she does it, but Tyr has...always seemed like a touchy-feely person to her, at least, so on impulse, she scoots a little closer and places on of her hands on his hand. Her other hand remains linked with his, and she tries to put as much reassurance in her voice as she can.] There shouldn't. It's working fine.

[Of course, she doubts whether he completely believes it himself--when he's telling her to be careful and having nightmares about people dying.]

...But you're still worried.

[stargathering]

[ He blinks in surprise when he feels her other hand come around his. He might be the touchy type, but she isn't. With her words, he feels a little jab. He doesn't ever doubt that she's right or that her work is good; she's yet to let him down.

His hand grips hers more tightly. ] There aren't any guarantees... If there's more to the curse or if it's stronger than you thought... [ He doesn't continue that. He doesn't want to think about it. ]

...oh, that was supposed to be hand on his head.;; /deeeeerp

[She's a little awkward about it at first, just resting her hand there, but she doesn't mind if she thinks it'll help him even a little.

She gives a slow shake of her head, eyes fixed on him.] If that's the case, then we'll figure it out and overcome it. I won't let anything happen. [Maybe she shouldn't be talking like this when the City is a place of uncertainty, but she does believe it. Somehow. And she wants him to know that she's confident.]

Oh. 8D That's so cute... Hand on his head it is!

[stargathering]

[ Having Rita close to his is comforting, just like her confidence. It's something that she doesn't just give out, and somehow that makes it more real.

Nevertheless, he blurts out: ] —And you can't die.

[ It was the first thing he thought of when she said they'd figure it out. Even if she comes back, even if it doesn't take her soul... Death would be the "error" in a "trial and error" method, wouldn't it? ]

[It takes her a little by surprise, and her eyes widen a moment before softening again.] I won't. I'm not going to die here.

[Even if she's not as reckless as some people (Yuri), she'll still try to be more careful, just so Tyr won't worry. The last thing he needs is his friends being careless and getting into danger.]

I also kept imagining his head on her lap, but 8|

[ He doesn't think she can promise that, but some of the panic still leaves his eyes. It's not being careless he's really worried about. ]

... Good.

Aww. It can still happen! I wanted it to at some point! ♥

[She'll try not to think about the rune, about what it might do, and she'll just focus on Tyr and his dreams right now. Maybe if she can help him with those, at least, she hopes that his fears will lessen.

Rita doesn't say anything just yet. Settling down in a more comfortable position by Tyr's head, she simply runs her fingers through his bangs, slowly.]

Eee, it can definitely happen then~

[stargathering]

[ He curls closer to her and lets his eyes close. The way her fingers comb through her hair makes him feel relaxed even if it's not relieving his worries.

If she died, he doesn't know what he'd do. He loves having her close like this, and he can't make himself ask her to leave him. That's would be the difference between her living and dying, too. ]

[She remembers once--even if it's an event she'd rather forget--that stroking Estelle's hair seemed to have an effect. She's relieved that it looks like it's working for Tyr, too.

Rita cares about him too much at this point to leave, anyway. Abandoning a friend to face their pain alone--she couldn't live with herself if she did that. So she'll stay here, stroking his hair and the top of his head covered by the bandanna.]

[ It does, and it reminds him of how Gremio used to be when he was younger. When he was sick... He scoots a bit closer again, shifting their hands down to rest beneath his chin so he can rest on her legs. It's quiet (part of why he likes this spot), and with just Rita with him after their little conversation, it feels eerily so. Almost like this is a dream, too, that just followed up the nightmare. ]

[It feels a little awkward, but...at the same time, it's nice. It feels like the right thing to do. She doesn't really want to break the quiet, and she isn't sure what to say in any case, so she settles for continuing her actions, going so far as to gently tug the bandanna off of his head and set it next to them so she can run her fingers through his hair properly.]

[ He opens his eyes to look up at her, surprised but not unpleasantly so. If he did anything, would she stop? He doesn't think it'd be right to tell her to continue if she suddenly did.

Still, he speaks quietly enough that she could ignore it. ] That's nice...

[She blinks when he opens his eyes and tilts her head, looking down and watching him.] Huh? [She's not certain if she caught it, but-] Are you feeling all right?

[ He smiles at her. ] Yeah. I feel better now, too.

[That's relieving to hear, though she hasn't forgotten how worried he was earlier. She'll do something to help him get past these nightmares.] Good. I'm glad.
