By midday, the sun was high and bright in the sky. It made the garden almost unbearably warm, but the shade of the trees made the at least some parts comfortable. Underneath one tree, one that still had some lingering, white blossoms, a table and three chairs had been set up.

It was the way Jillia liked it. Sitting at the table with a pitcher of ice tea, she could enjoy the warm weather and all the bright colours of her garden. As well as comfortably watch Pilika play while she waited for their guest. The servants were running late with their snack, but it didn't really need to be their until he was.

She just had to wait patiently for both of them.

Her guest, too, was running a little late, unfortunately. There were certain things which he'd always be on time for, and visiting Jillia had quickly become one of them, but sometimes... well. There was no way to help what happened to Caesar because of what was supposed to be an afternoon nap.

Of course, when he finally did arrive, you'd never have guessed it was because he overslept. Maybe it was because he always had a sleepy look about him, but Caesar looked no different than he did the day he promised to meet with her again. It took a moment for him to spot Jillia, but it was only because he was also amazed by the colors of her garden. It seemed more beautiful every time he came here, even if he'd already seen it a number of times before.

Finally catching sight of her, he offered her a smile.

"Hey."

Caesar didn't particularly mind how overly polite she was. He'd gotten used to this sort of thing when he was little - most people respected Silverbergs simply because of their name, after all. He didn't care for it because it was so fake most of the time, but he knew that Jillia did it out of habit and not because of who he was. If anything, it was because it was her that he didn't mind it as much as he usually did.

He took his seat opposite of Jillia and watched as she went to pour the tea. He nodded at her question. "Yeah, but not in a while. Bet it couldn't compare to yours, though." Which was kind of his way of saying that she had good taste, even though he wasn't a big fan of all this fancy stuff most of the time.

Either way, it was true that it was something Caesar didn't get to taste often. Then again, he hadn't even expected that he'd be spending as much time here as he had been. It had been a while since he'd stayed somewhere for this long. He didn't mind it, but it was a strange thing after having traveled all over the Grasslands.

"I'm actually very picky!" he said, taking the glass and waiting for Jillia to take a sip of the tea before he did. It wasn't a matter of being polite or anything, just habit. "Not bad, not bad."

He's not a bad kid. What about you? Do you like working with him?

I do. He's lively, and he does well as a leader.

I'm glad... [ He doesn't say anything more, thinking a little about Riou. There weren't many comparisons that could be made, but the ones that could weren't very good. ] It's good the war is almost over, too, though.
