[Frey does, indeed, wake up eventually to find that bowl, which he manages to drink from with his shaky hands. It's a bit odd to drink from a bowl rather then a cup, but it's medicine and it helps with the fever that seems to have set in overnight.
Even with a mind clouded with fever, though, he has enough sense to look over his surroundings for any ways to escape once there is enough light to do so.]
